ST OSYTH SUMMER SOUNDS VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME
St Osyth Summer Sounds is proud to offer a volunteer programme for people who want to be part of delivering a fantastic community event while gaining valuable experience and supporting festival day operations. The programme is being managed by CVST, led by Becky Dowling, and anyone interested in getting involved can sign up via the volunteer application form. Once applications have been received, we will contact volunteers to confirm next steps and let them know about their role. Before the event, volunteers will be invited to a Zoom briefing where we will talk through the day, explain what to expect, and answer any questions. On the day itself, volunteers will also have a dedicated on-site contact from the team to support them and make sure they feel confident and looked after throughout their shift.

Volunteering is also a great opportunity to gain event experience, build confidence, meet new people, and play an active role in a community festival. Whether someone is looking to support the local area, gain practical experience, or simply be part of something positive and exciting, the volunteer programme offers a rewarding way to get involved.
General Expectations and Behaviour
All volunteers are expected to represent St Osyth Summer Sounds, CVST and the wider event team in a positive and professional way. We ask volunteers to be reliable, punctual, respectful and friendly at all times, and to follow instructions from Becky Dowling, CVST, and event supervisors. Volunteers should treat all attendees, artists, staff and fellow volunteers with patience, courtesy and inclusion, helping to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
While on shift, volunteers should be focused on their role, wear their volunteer T-shirt or accreditation as required, and behave responsibly. This includes arriving on time, communicating if there is a problem, not being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during duties, and reporting any safety, welfare or safeguarding concerns immediately to the appropriate lead. We also expect volunteers to respect confidentiality where needed, use phones appropriately while on duty, and understand that they are part of the team delivering a professional public event.
