Brownie and the bean
Back in 2017, we left behind city life in London and moved to the Norfolk/ Suffolk borders in search of a slower pace and new adventure. With a shared love of food, we (Charlotte and Luke) wanted to create something meaningful.
Our story started with a family favourite- Luke’s Mum’s famous brownie recipe. It was the kind of bake that brought everyone together at family parties, so we decided it would be the perfect foundation for our business.
We began with a mobile café, transforming a vintage horse trailer into a café on wheels. By 2019, we were travelling across East Anglia, serving our freshly baked brownies and hot drinks at markets, fairs, and local events.
When everything changed in 2020, so did we. We parked up the trailer for good and focused on home baking, offering doorstep deliveries across our local area. The response was incredible and led us to launch our brownie deliveries by post, making it possible for customers all over the UK to enjoy our brownies.
Today, we still handcraft every brownie by hand in our Suffolk bakery, alongside a growing range of cookies, cakes, traybakes, and seasonal treats. Everything we make is done in small batches using traditional techniques and ingredients we’re proud of: free-range eggs from a local farm, East Anglian grown wheat for our flour, sugar from Bury St Edmunds, British butter, and responsibly sourced chocolate made here in the UK. Whenever we can, we also grow or forage the fruits that go into our jams and toppings.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Our packaging is fully recyclable, and much of it is compostable too. We’re always looking for ways to reduce our impact while keeping our brownies fresh and beautifully presented.
Our family-run bakery now delivers brownies across the UK, working with individuals, retailers, and businesses of all sizes. We also offer bespoke brownie boxes for weddings, celebrations, and corporate gifts, all baked, packed, and delivered with care.
What began with one treasured brownie recipe has grown into a multi-award winning bakery with a loyal community of customers who love handmade bakes that taste as good as they look. Through it all, our focus remains the same: craftsmanship, care, and exceptional flavour in every bite.
