Yui Miles

Yui Miles is a Thai chef, cookbook author and a quarter-finalist on BBC's MasterChef UK 2019. She specialises in authentic Thai and Asian cuisine and has her own cookbook, Thai Made Easy

Yui Miles is a leading Thai culinary expert, celebrated for her vibrant cooking style, warm teaching approach, and mission to make authentic Thai cuisine accessible to everyone. Raised in a Thai-Chinese family where food was at the heart of daily life, she learned traditional techniques from her mother and grandmother — a foundation that shaped her career and distinctive cooking philosophy.

Yui rose to prominence as a BBC MasterChef UK 2019 Quarterfinalist, winner of the ICG (Inspiring Culinary Generations) National Cookery Competition 2020, and a contestant on Channel 4’s Beat the Chef, where she impressed judges with her bold Thai flavours.

A highly experienced live presenter, Yui has delivered Thai cooking demonstrations at major events across the UK, including the National Geographic Food Festival, Car Fest, and the Destinations Travel Show for the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Internationally, she headlined a Thai Masterclass to an audience of more than 500 people at the GTCO Food & Drink Festival in Lagos, Nigeria, one of Africa’s largest culinary events. She also completed a two-week culinary residency at Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia, working alongside executive chefs to curate a Thai fine-dining experience.

Yui’s collaborations include working with Michelin-starred Chef Atul Kochhar, hosting a fully booked Thai Feast Supper Club that showcased refined Thai dishes in an elevated dining format. She has also partnered with leading brands, supermarkets, and media platforms to develop authentic Thai recipes, digital content, and promotional campaigns.

Her debut cookbook, Thai Made Easy (Quadrille Publishing), is available in English, German, and Dutch. The German edition earned the Silver Prize at the 2025 German Cookbook Awards, marking a major milestone in her mission to introduce Thai cooking to homes worldwide.

Active across social media like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, Yui connects daily with a global audience, sharing recipes, travel stories, and behind-the-scenes insights into her culinary work. Whether teaching, hosting events, or creating content, she continues to inspire cooks of all levels to embrace the joy, flavour, and accessibility of Thai food.
