ROGER DOUGLAS

Roger Douglas is a talented, unique vocalist. Over the years, he has delighted audiences all over the UK and many places all over the world. Roger's current genre is 1970s/1980s romantic ballads, with a sprinkle of a wide ranging influence. He has been influenced and inspired by artists ranging from Kate Bush, The Carpenters and Bob Marley!

Roger Douglas grew up in Tottenham, North London, with his mother and sister. Around the age of 12, his sister's boyfriend noticed that he had a talent for singing; this gave Roger encouragement and confidence to one day pick up the mike!

At the age of 18, Roger moved to Birmingham to find his own pathway. For a short while, he found himself homeless. Whilst sofa surfing, Roger made friends and became involved in the local, vibrant music scene; everyone was in at least one band and sometimes two! There was a rich creative cultural music movement in Birmingham in the early 80s and Roger seamlessly gravitated into that scene enthusiastically.

Roger Douglas has had experience with live bands, and duos but has decided over the last few years to become a solo vocalist. He plays at clubs, pubs, local festivals....but absolutely loves busking! In fact, he has undertaken a few 'busking tours'. Only recently, he performed live on the streets of Brighton, Eastbourne, Whitstable, Ipswich, Colchester, Southend, Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford, and London!

Roger Douglas is ideally suited for pubs, clubs, gatherings of various types, weddings, birthdays, engagement parties and corporate events. For whatever your occasion, the fantastic vocals of Roger Douglas will be a crowd pleaser.

Performing in the Producers Market as part of the Clacton Arts Centre Programme.
